CENTRIFUGAL CAST CALENDER ROLL FOR PAPER MACHINE

CALENDER ROLL

Conventional calendar rolls for paper machine have been made of stationary cast method for long time. Recently the calendar rolls are especially required for abrasion resistance caused by the current of highly speed paper machine.
To meet the requirements, it is necessary to boot up hardness of roll¡¯s surface.
The conventional technology of the stationary casting faces a limitation in roll surface hardness (by maximum Hs 74). There needs to adapt high alloy material for the roll.
Then, high alloy is adopted in the stationary casting roll, over-all of inside of the roll turned too hard to maintain impact-proof, and may cause breakage in driving.
There is an option, too, that by vaporizing method toughness can be improved up to some grade, but chilled degree results difference part by part of the roll body, which makes cause trembling in operation and lowering of precision.
It is the reason to develop the centrifugal casting technology to take away defaults of conventional stationary casting method. The core of the centrifugal casting is that cast a outer of the  roll with high alloy materials first, and then cast an inner part of it  with  some specific materials, secondly  giving heat for a bit melted the cooled layer(outer surface) of the roll to alloy with inner layer¡¯s materials. In this time the melting volume is varied according to inner layer¡¯s (surface¡¯s) materials source and outer surface thickness is not uniformed. In the result, the roll comes out wrenched.
To avoid such distorted figure, we have successful technology of  Centrifugal Casting, which secures uniformed thickness of the roll¡¯s outer surface.
Since 1984  we have produced by the centrifugal casting ultimately improved roll of excellent hardness and provided them our customers with fully satisfactory more than 300 rolls.
